  1. A-596(1) Copy Binding: Parchment; marbled pastedowns. Name of author, title, and imprint written on spine in black ink. Size: 154 × 102 × 25 mm. Size of leaf: 150 × 100 mm. On [A3r] a twelve-line initial ‘F' is supplied in purple, on a gold ground with foliate decoration in blue and green. Foliate extensions into the gutter in blue and green, with white tracery. In lower margin, a border of gold tracery, with floral decoration in blue, green, and purple, in the centre of which an eight-sided star, edged in gold and containing, on a green ground, the following coat of arms: azure, on a mount gules, a cross argent, supported by two bulls horned or. In the upper margin, the title is surrounded by a border in dark and light blue. On [A2v] the woodcut is coloured in red, white, green, blue, pink, yellow, and gold, with the edge in gold, and, below, a floral border of gold tracery, with flowers in blue, green, and purple, and green and blue foliage; above the woodcut, a scroll in blue, with ‘Sanc. Augustinus' in yellow epigraphic initials written along it. Lombard initials and paragraph marks supplied in red or blue. Decorated in Ferrara: see Pächt and Alexander II, 113, no. pr. 122. Capitals touched with yellow wash. Provenance: Brescia, Augustinian Hermits, S. Barnabas; inscription on [A1r]: ‘Bibliothece S. Barnabae Brixiae'.
