  1. B-452(1) Copy Binding: Contemporary blind-tooled pigskin (Inzigkofen: Baden-Württemberg, Schunke–Schwenke–Rabenau 271) over bevelled wooden boards; remains of clasp. On both covers fillets form an intersecting double frame; within the outer frame, a pomegranate stamp (Schunke–Schwenke 123 no. 156), a square stamp with a swan, and a small open rosette. An inner rectangle is divided by fillets into three horizontal compartments; in the large central compartment plain outline-tools form merrythoughts each containing a round rosette stamp and a round stag stamp (Schunke–Schwenke 141 no. 70a?); in the upper compartment, a large round stamp with a double-headed eagle (Schunke–Schwenke 19 no. 455?); in the lower compartment, a square lamb-and-flag stamp. Size: 313 × 210 × 75 mm. Size of leaf: 297 × 208 mm. Rear pastedown from a fifteenth-century manuscript on paper containing a theological text in Latin. Reinforcing pieces from a manuscript on parchment containing a note about taxes paid in kind, in Alemannic dialect. Occasional early marginal notes. Provenance: Johannes Scolaris (fifteenth/sixteenth century); on a2r: ‘Possidet me Joannes Scolaris, plebanus in Mainwang.'
