Provenance: Amberg, Bavaria, Franciscans, S. Bernardinus Senensis; inscription on [a1r]: ‘Ad bibliothecam P.P. Francisc. Amberge'.
Probably Georg Franz Burkhard Kloß (1787-1854): see sale (1835), lot 2392.
Purchased for £0. 10. 0; see Books Purchased (1835), 5; another copy appears to have been bought for £0. 11. 0 from the sale and in 1837; see Library Bills (1837-8), no. 30, lot 174, described in the printed sale catalogue as being printed in Mainz by Peter Schöffer, but in Sotheby's annotated catalogue this has been corrected to Eggestein; it is possible that this copy was returned to Sotheby's as it does not occur in Books Purchased (1837).
