Venice: Andreas Torresanus de Asula, Bartholomaeus de Blavis de Alexandria, and Mapheus de Paterbonis, 3 Aug. 1482 (C‑372). Binding: Contemporary blind-tooled calf (north German, Cologne?) over wooden boards; central boss and four corner-pieces lost on each cover, also two clasps. On both covers double fillets form a border. Triple fillets form an intersecting double frame; within the outer frame on the upper cover is a repeated tendril stamp, and at the corners a small square flower-petal stamp; on the lower, the repeated tendril stamp and a small circular flower-petal stamp. On both covers triple fillets form an inner rectangle, divided by double fillets into triangular and lozenge-shaped compartments, decorated on the upper cover with the small square flower-petal stamp in the compartments and at the points of intersection the small circular flower-petal stamp; on the lower cover with these two stamps and another smaller flower-petal stamp. Badly worn contemporary manuscript label on the upper cover. Parchment index tabs. Spine damaged. Size: 252 × 185 × 53 mm. Size of leaf: 242 × 173 mm. Parchment manuscript leaves, containing a text on logic, written in a fourteenth-century English hand, used as pastedowns on the upper and lower covers. Between gatherings A and B, a fragment of a leaf, perhaps from the same manuscript, reinforcing the binding. The upper pastedown also contains a list of contents in the margin, perhaps in the hand of Jacobus de Nussia. Some early marginal notes. On A5r a nine-line initial ‘B' is supplied in gold, on a blue ground, with floral infill in black ink and red. Other initials are supplied in blue. Capital strokes in red. Manuscript running headings are supplied in black ink in a contemporary hand. Provenance: Jacobus de Nussia (fifteenth century); inscription on A1r: ‘Ex pro[cura]cione fratris Jacobi de Nussia, ordinis fratrum Dei genitricis Marie de Monte Carmeli, tunc lectoris conuentus Coloniensis'; various old shelfmarks, perhaps from Cologne, Carmelites, S.
