Wanting [a1-2].
Binding: Contemporary English blind-tooled calf over wooden boards; hinged from upper to lower board, two clasps lost. A border formed by a repeated small floral stamp on the upper cover and, on the lower, by a repeated small triangular stamp; on the upper cover a single fillet, on the lower cover triple fillets, form an inner rectangle subdivided by sets of horizontal double fillets into twelve compartments, decorated with floral and bird tools; see Oldham, Blind-stamped Bindings, pl. xxvii, nos 411-16, ‘binder K'.
Size: 230 × 155 × 35 mm.
Size of leaf: 212 × 145 mm.
Pastedowns from a musical manuscript, now removed with no record of their present location.
Manuscript catchwords at the end of each gathering and early marginal notes throughout. Copious marginal notes: some early notes washed out, most in one sixteenth-century(?) hand. Also pointing hands and note marks.
Provenance: Thomas More (sixteenth century); note on [m10v]: ‘To my biloving friend Mr | Thomas More This be deliuered with spead'.
