Binding: Quarter red morocco over tree calf by C. Kalthoeber; gold fillets on the covers; gold-tooled spine; marbled pastedowns; gilt-edged leaves; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.

Provenance: Pietro-Antonio Bolongaro-Crevenna (1735-1792) [although Jos van Heel has expressed doubt, in a personal communication, about this provenance]; sale (1789), part III, lot 3321; according to the annotated catalogue bought in by P. den Hengst at Fl. 10, the equivalent of £0. 17. 10, according to the exchange rate used by Thomas Payne at the sale.
