1. C-348(1) Copy Vol. 2 only (super Codice VI–IX). Wanting ꝶ7. Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, two clasps lost; back very worn. On the upper cover fillets form a double intersecting frame; within the outer frame is a large round rosette stamp and a lozenge-shaped stamp with an oak branch; within the inner frame a repeated headed-outline tool; the inner rectangle is filled with merrythoughts surrounding fleurons. On the lower cover fillets form a double intersecting frame. The head and tail compartments of the frame are divided by fillets into triangular compartments, each of which contains the smaller rosette stamp. The inner rectangle is divided by fillets into lozenge-shaped compartments; in the compartments the large rosette stamp and a smaller rosette stamp. Size: 417 × 280 × 68 mm. Size of leaf: 404 × 277 mm. Fragments from a grammatical manuscript used as reinforcing strips. On aa1r an eight-line initial is supplied in red with pen-work decoration (mayflowers) in the area defined by the letter and extensions in red. Other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red; red capital strokes and underlining. Provenance: Probably a duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich; ‘Dplum' on verso of front endleaf. Possibly Henry Bryant (1721-1799). W. D. Sohier (nineteenth century); on front flyleaf inscription: ‘W. D. Sohier from Dr. Henry Bryant'. Presented by Mrs D. L.
