  1. C-457(1) Copy Wanting the blank leaves [a1] and [k6] and leaf k1. On [h6v] the penultimate line is printed beneath the last line. For this copy see Caxton, Exhibition, Bodley, no. 12. Binding: Seventeenth-century blind-tooled calf, in the style of several Selden books; rebacked. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at head of the upper cover. Size: 280 × 200 × 21 mm. Size of leaf: 275 × 189 mm. Initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red. Provenance: In Hyde, Catalogus (1674), II 13, two copies of the English version are listed, one with the shelfmark Th. 4° N 14, the other undated and shelfmarked 4° N 3 Th. Seld.; it seems likely that the latter entry in the 1674 catalogue refers to this copy (possibly a Selden copy), and the former entry to C‑458; for Selden's copy see MS.
