Copious early marginal and interlinear notes, some in Italian and Latin, many providing Spanish glosses. Provenance: Embossed monogram: ‘L F' pasted on front pastedown. Unread inscription on a1v: ‘D.   2. D-016(2) Second copy In place of sheet f3.6 is bound sheet f3.6 from a copy of Petrarca, Trionfi. Venice: Petrus de Plasiis, Cremonensis, dictus Veronensis, 1 Apr. 1492 (P‑161). Wanting sheets a5.6, G4.5, f3.6, and leaf r6. Leaves B8, F6 and r4, 5 mutilated. The missing text on B8, F6, and G4.5 is supplied in an early hand. The missing woodcuts have been replaced with cuts from other editions. Binding: Nineteenth-century half blue morocco; bound by Maltby. Size: 288 × 200 × 48 mm. Size of leaf: 279 × 185 mm. An engraved portrait of Dante within an ornamental frame is pasted on a front endleaf. On a1r two lines of verses added in an early hand, incipit: ‘Quan. legis arapeia(?) briseide li[tem?] uenit | Vix bene barbarica grecha notanda manu'; two lines of verse added in another hand, incipit:` Uxoris ame . . .’ Provenance: On a1r a deleted inscription dated 1541. On front endleaf an erased inscription in a sixteenth/seventeenth-century hand: ‘Di me(?) Valerio Maletti(?) [ ] lasciati dal sig. Alessandro Miani'. Auguste Léopold Hervieux (1831-1900); ‘No. 153.
