  1. D-168(1) First copy Bound in four volumes. In vol. 4 d8 is bound after d1. Binding: Contemporary German (Augsburg, Kyriß workshop no. 80) blind-tooled calf over wooden boards; all four volumes rebacked. One metal clasp and one lost on vol. 1, one only on vol. 2, one lost on vol. 3, and two lost on vol. 4; vols 1-3 have inscribed catches. On both covers of all four volumes triple fillets form concentric intersecting frames. Within the second frame is a repeated rosette stamp (Kyriß pl. 163, no. 4). On the upper cover of vols 1 and 4, the inner rectangle is divided by further triple fillets into compartments, the inner one of which is decorated with a small lozenge-shaped stamp (Kyriß pl. 163, no. 9) and a flower-petal stamp (Kyriß pl. 163, no. 10). On the lower cover of vols 1 and 4 and on both covers of vol. 3, the inner rectangle is decorated with merrythoughts (Kyriß pl. 163, nos 2 and 3) and two small floral stamps (Kyriß pl. 163, nos 5 and 6). On both covers of vol. 2, the inner rectangle is decorated with merrythoughts and the small flower-petal stamps. Each volume has the remains of a paper manuscript label at the head of the spine, and below this a number (G130–133) on a label. Next to the spine on both covers of all volumes a strip of leather with a floral roll covers or replaces the repeated rosette stamps. Sheppard notes that the bindings are similar to that on Inc. d. G26.1482.1 (Nicolaus de Ausmo, Supplementum Summae Pisanellae. Reutlingen: [Michel Greyff], 5 Jan. 1482 (N‑022). Size: Vol. 1: 252 × 180 × 72 mm; vol. 2: 250 × 179 × 53 mm; vol. 3: 247 × 175 × 40 mm; vol. 4: 251 × 178 × 77 mm. Size of leaf: 236 × 165 mm. The number of the volume is given in an early hand on the recto or verso of the front endleaf of each volume. On a1r of vol. 4, 6 Latin elegiac distichs on Duns Scotus and his work, with the incipit: ‘Incumbat sedulis, qui vt sane intelligat, optat | Nexibus impliciti scripta recurua Scoti'. On the verso of the front endleaf of vol. 4 in a seventeenth-century hand: ‘legere inchoaui 16 Januarii 167-(?)'. Initials, some with red pen-work infill and extensions into the margins, are supplied in red or blue or interlocked red and blue; paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue; capital strokes and underlining in red. Volume numbers on the fore-edge of each volume in black ink, also titles(?) on the upper edges. Provenance: Bolzano (Bozen), Tyrol, Reformed Franciscans (Observants from 1514); sixteenth-century(?) an inscription on a2r of part I: ‘Pro conuentu Bolzanensi Fratrum Minorum Reformat.', also stamp, ‘E Bibliotheca Franciscana Bulsani'; similar inscriptions (in sixteenth/ seventeenth-century hands(?)) and the stamp in the other volumes.   2. D-168(2) Second copy Part II only. Binding: Nineteenth-century half maroon morocco and maroon cloth over paper boards. Size: 247 × 175 × 34 mm. Size of leaf: 236 × 162 mm. Parchment endleaves from a late thirteenth-century commentary on Aristotle, Posterior Analytics. On a2r a nine-line initial ‘C' supplied in black ink coloured in green and red wash, with foliate infill. Provenance: Purchased from J.
