  1. D-198(1) Copy Wanting a1, the place of which is taken by a title-page from a sixteenth-century edition printed in red and black. Binding: Eighteenth-century mottled calf with a double frame formed by fillets with floral stamps at the corners. Formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the head of the upper cover. Size: 232 × 170 × 55 mm. Size of leaf: 227 × 158 mm. A few early marginal notes. Notes in French in an early hand on E10v. Red capital strokes. Provenance: Va[lentin?] Dauge (fifteenth/sixteenth century); on d7r a fifteenth/sixteenth-century inscription: ‘Pro Va[lentino?] Dauge presbitero'. Jac[obus] Cairon (fl. 1671-1679); on the sixteenth-century title-page an inscription: ‘Ex libris Jac[obi] Cairon 1671', inscribed after the title-page was mounted as it is today. Date of acquisition unknown; despite the shelfmark, it is not a Selden copy. SHELFMARK: AA 150 Th. Seld.
