1. G-163(1) Copy Binding: Contemporary blind-tooled brown calf over wooden boards, with two metal clasps and catches, hinged from the lower cover. On both covers quadruple fillets form an intersecting frame; the inner rectangle is divided by quadruple fillets into nine rectangular compartments; the three upper and lower compartments contain lozenge-shaped stamps with fleur-de-lis on the side (Schwenke–Schunke 39 no. 148), and a square stamp with two eagles within a circle. The three central compartments contain lozenge-shaped stamps with a mythical beast on the sides (Schwenke–Schunke 109 no. 25), and the square stamp with two eagles surrounded by triangular stamps with fleur-de-lis and lozenge-shaped stamps with the mythical beast, at the centre. In the upper and lower margin of the outer frame a rectangular stamp with the inscription: ‘huyseborch' (Schwenke–Schunke 293 no. 388). This decorative pattern is superimposed on other fillets and stamps. One leather and one paper index tab. Size: 295 × 208 × 55 mm. Size of leaf: 280 × 198 mm. Woodcut pasted inside the lower board, showing the salvation and damnation of souls. A four-line initial is supplied in red with reserved white decoration on [a1v]; a five-line initial is supplied in interlocked red and brown with red infill partly covered by the application of gold leaf on [a2r]; seven-line initial is supplied in interlocked red and brown with red infill and pen-work decoration; three-line initials, paragraph marks and underlining of chapter headings are supplied in red, some capital strokes in red.
