Binding: Sixteenth-century(?) half pigskin, with paper boards; on the spine a cresting roll(?) and an inscription in black ink with ‘Gregorius M., Dialogus' and ‘Historia ex Speculo Mundi . . .', as in a manuscript note on [r3v]. Size: 271 × 198 × 38 mm. Size of leaf: 267 × 189 mm. Occasional pointing hands. Note in a sixteenth-century(?) hand on [r3v] regarding the following work (see above). Partial rubrication: on [a3v] a five-line initial ‘E' supplied in red, with pen-work extension into the upper margin, and surmounted by a red bird. On [b4v -b5r] two-line initials and paragraph marks, on [c8v -c9r] a four-line initial ‘E' and paragraph marks, also capital strokes supplied in red. On [e10v], [n7v], and [t4v] woodcut initials with pen-work infill and extensions into the margins in black ink, including faces and shields. Provenance: Early shelfmark on [a2r]: ‘A5'.
