On the upper cover: ‘[F]ratres, nemini quicquam debeatis nisi ut inuicem diligatis . . .' (Rm 13, 8-10). ‘Feria quarta ad romanos. v. [F]ratres, sicut per unius delictum in omnes homines in condemnationem . . . vite. Sicut enim per in[oboedientiam]' (Rm 5, 18). On the lower cover: ‘[ ]iquus quem(?) dominus deus interficiet spiritu oris sui . . . Tractus. Qui regis israel intende qui deducis uelut ouem ioseph. Versus. Size of leaf: 208 × 138 mm. Manuscript foliation, 116-225, in the upper right-hand corner, added in brown ink in a contemporary hand; the index tabs, foliation, and the inscriptions across the upper edge suggest that this edition was bound together with other works from an early stage. Some pen-flourished initials, underlining of chapter headings, and capital strokes are supplied in red. Provenance: Purchased in 1867 for £4. 4. 0; see Invoice Book (1863-7; Library Records d. 432).   2. H-122(2) Second copy Binding: Nineteenth-century half calf; bound for the Bodleian Library. Size: 210 × 145 × 23 mm. Size of leaf: 202 × 138 mm. Manuscript foliation, 45-156, in the upper right-hand corner, added in brown ink in a contemporary hand; the foliation suggests that this edition was bound together with other works from an early stage. A five-line initial is supplied in blue, the first line of the text underlined in red, and red capital strokes on a2r. Provenance: Acquired between 1847 and c.1892, possibly a duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich, acquired in 1850; not in Catalogus (1843) with Appendix. SHELFMARK: Auct. 5Q 6.78.
