Binding: Nineteenth-century leather binding laid down with original covers, spine, clasps, and catches. Contemporary German (Augsburg, Kyriß workshop no. 86) blind-tooled leather; triple fillets form a quadruple frame. Within the head of the outer frame ‘Ropertus hol[ ]', stamped, in the upper cover only; within the following frame a floral roll in the upper cover, hunt roll in the lower cover; within the following frame, rosette stamps in the upper cover only. The inner rectangle is decorated with three plait-work rolls running vertically; see Kyriß pl. 175, nos 1-3, 6.
Size: 302 × 211 × 55 mm.
Size of leaf: 292 × 202 mm.
Fifteenth/sixteenth-century marginal note on H6v: ‘N. B. Miror hominem hunc doctum nenijs, et fabellis Martini inhaerere, olim profligati, et ipso Siluestri sepulch[r?]o, mendacis.’
Initials are supplied in red.
