1. i1r Homerus; Tigres [I.e. Pigres] Karos: Batrachomyomachia. On the attribution to Pigres (here Tigres) Karos, accepted by Arthur Ludwig, Die homerische Batrachomyomachia des Karers Pigres nebst Scholien und Paraphrase (Leipzig, 1896), but since rejected, see Die Batrachomyomachia: Synoptische edition und Kommentar, ed. Reinhold Glei (Frankfurt am Main, 1984), 25-6.
2. i1r [Interlinear gloss, printed in red.] Ludwig takes the author of the gloss to the Batrachomyomachia as well as to the verses by Michael Apostolis to be Laonicus, apparently understanding the Σύνθεσις of the colophon to mean ‘edited'; this interpretation is rejected by Robert Proctor, The Printing of Greek in the Fifteenth Century (Oxford, 1900), 74, who takes it to mean ‘composed' in the typographical sense.
3. iii6v Apostolis, Michael: ‘ Στίχοι αὐτοὶ ἡρωικοὶ καὶ πολιτικοί .’ [Verses in praise of the Batrachomyomachia.] Incipit: ‘ Μερόπεσιν ἔθηκας ἄληκτον | θάμβος πα̂σιν  . . .’ The text is printed in black, with an interlinear gloss in red.
