Binding: Eighteenth-century French gold-tooled red morocco; marbled pastedowns, gilt-edged leaves, and green silk bookmark. Bookmark slip with observations on the miniature by Francis Douce. Size: 196 × 135 × 32 mm. Size of leaf: 187 × 128 mm. Manuscript additions on a1r completely erased. On the rear pastedown is a list of woodcuts in Douce's hand. On a1v a miniature of Charles VIII(?) kneeling; see Pächt and Alexander I, 62 no. 795 and pl. lix. Coloured woodcuts. Initials and paragraph marks are supplied in gold on a brown ground. Capitals touched with yellow wash. Ruling in red ink. Provenance: Francis Douce (1757-1834); armorial book-plate. Bequeathed in 1834. SHELFMARK: Douce BB 130.
