=561 \\$aProvenance: [A2r] inscribed "Monasterij" in a seventeenth-century hand, the other part erased. Typed information (undated but before 1950; see below) from Martin Breslauer, offering the book for sale (price erased). He calls it "the first German Book of Hours in the vernacular". The Broxbourne Library of Albert Ehrman (1890-1969), with his armorial bookplate to the front pastedown, with the motto "pro viribus summis contendo", and the Bibliotheca Broxbourniana bookplate (dated 1950) to the rear pastedown. Front endpaper inscribed "To John [Ehrman], a present for presenting us with a grandson, William. [From] Mummy & Daddy [i.e. Albert Ehrman], Sept. [19]50." Presented by John Ehrman, through the Friends of the National Libraries, in April 1977.$5UkCU

=599 \\$aDecoration: Borders coloured by a contemporary hand (up to leaf f6; uncoloured after), as are the fourteen full-page miniatures and the printed historiated initials (mostly containing figures). Foliation and headings in an early hand.$5UkCU
=599 \\$aImperfect: Lacking [A1] (title) and [A8] (the latter in facsimile), plus a1 (blank on the recto; the verso with some text in red). See enclosed letter from a member of GW staff (dated 1998).$5UkCU
=599 \\$aBMC and GW both give the collation as [Aa] b-f A-I8 [K4], which would suggest that there is only a single gathering of 8 leaves immediately before sig. b. BMC goes on to say that there should be a total of 132 leaves (which would necessitate two gatherings of 8 before sig. b). These initial gatherings would perhaps best be described therefore as [A] [a]8.$5UkCU
