1. I-013(1) Copy Leaves [f3] and [f6] have been cut away. Wanting the blank leaf [cc6]. Binding: Contemporary German blind-tooled pigskin over wooden boards, with metal catches, parchment label with manuscript title on the head of the upper cover, and yellow-edged leaves. Centre-piece and corner-pieces lost. Triple fillets form a frame, with small circular floral stamps in the four corners. On the upper cover, diagonal triple fillets, lined with headed-outline tools, divide an inner rectangle into lozenge-shaped and triangular compartments, each containing a circular rosette stamp. On the lower cover, diagonal triple fillets, lined by headed-outline tools, divide an inner rectangle into four triangular compartments, each containing a circular rosette stamp. On the spine, manuscript title and ‘E(?). VII. 18.’ Size: 423 × 300 × 130 mm. Size of leaf: 400 × 280 mm. The rear pastedown consists of one leaf ([H4]) from Rainerius de Pisis, Pantheologia. Nuremberg: Anton Koberger, 12 Feb. 1477 (R‑004(5)); a strip of parchment from an eleventh- or early twelfth-century German(?) noted liturgical manuscript is visible in the binding. A few initials are supplied in red with red pen-work decoration; other initials, paragraph marks, and underlining of chapter headings are supplied in red, capital strokes in red. Provenance: Reichenhall, Bavaria, S. Zeno, Augustinian Canons; inscription on [a2r]: ‘Monasterij S. Zenonis.' Presumably a duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich; paper bookmark with the number ‘14650'. Purchased from Munich via Thomas Rodd for 20 Florins, i.e. £2. 0. 0; see Books Purchased (1837), 19.
