1. J-230(1) Copy Binding: Nineteenth-century French gold-tooled blue morocco, with doublures, by P. Bozérian le jeune (fl. 1805-1818); name on the spine. Gilt-edged leaves, parchment endleaves, and pink silk book-mark. Size: 384 × 275 × 40 mm. Size of leaf: 375 × 266 mm. Printed on parchment. Running book numbers are supplied in red ink, with chapter numbers in arabic figures supplied in black ink; at the head of the outer margins of the rectos, when needed, chapter headings are supplied in red ink or in a different hand in black ink, now partly shaved by the binder. A few marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, and pointing hands in two different early hands, one probably that of W. Haller, the other a humanist hand. In the margin of [a1r] an initial ‘I' is supplied in interlocked red and blue. Other initials and paragraph marks are supplied in red or blue. On [f1r] a male face in ink within the initial letter ‘Q'. Provenance: Wolfgangus Haller (†after 1505); name and coat of arms on [n6v]. Antoine Augustin Renouard (1765-1853); sale (1834), lot 852.
