M-027(1) Copy Binding: Contemporary German(?) blind-tooled quarter sheep dyed red over wooden boards, with remains of one clasp; yellow-edged leaves; leather index tabs. ‘WW II'(?) on rectangular paper label at tail of the spine. ‘75' also on rectangular label at centre of the spine. Triple fillets form a frame, divided by vertical triple fillets into two compartments. The one adjacent to the spine is decorated with a repeated headed-outline tool, the other one with a repeated rosette stamp. Strips from a fifteenth-century parchment manuscript visible in the binding. Size: 220 × 155 × 50 mm. Size of leaf: 208 × 146 mm. ‘N. 34' in red crayon on the front pastedown. Some marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, in an early German(?) hand. Provenance: Duplicate from the Royal Library, Munich, no. 1726; ‘Dupl' and ‘1726' in pencil respectively on front and rear endleaves.
