  1. O-017(1) Copy Binding: Sixteenth-century Parisian blind-tooled calf, by Didier Maiheu, with remains of leather strings in the lower edge of both covers and restored edges and spine. Quadruple fillets form a border, within which are floral and foliate stamps and a fleur-de-lis stamp at each corner. Triple fillets form the inner rectangle, decorated with two griffons holding a shield bearing the initials D. M. Strips from a fifteenth-century religious book printed on parchment visible in the binding. Size: 178 × 135 × 45 mm. Size of leaf: 175 × 122 mm. Inserted in the book, a piece of paper with eighteenth/nineteenth-century notes in Latin; a letter from E. P. Goldschmidt to Ehrman, dated 13 Nov. 1939, and another from G. D. Hobson, Sotheby & Co., dated 13 Nov. 1939, both regarding the binding of this book. A cutting from a bookseller's catalogue, probably Nourry's, no. 361. On front and rear pastedowns, manuscript notes, mainly relating to the text, in Mattheus de Bonif.'s hand. A few marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, pointing hands, and ‘nota' marks, also in his hand. On P4r a marginal note, extracting key words, in a late sixteenth-century hand. Provenance: Mattheus(?) de Bonif., Franciscan (fl. 1512); inscription on front pastedown: ‘Anno domini millesimo quingentesimo 12 die 3 septembris [ ] istum [ ] solui 12 d(?). M. B.' Ownership inscription on a1r, in a more calligraphic script: ‘Ex libris fratris Matthei(?) de Bonif. or' Min.' Albert Ehrman (1890-1969); armorial book-plate; purchased from E.
