Wanting the blank leaves a1, i1, and S10.
Leaves A1 and ee6 have been cut out and mounted. The Metamorphoses (gatherings A–S) are bound first.
Binding: Eighteenth/nineteenth-century calf with triple blind-tooled fillets; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers.
Size: 312 × 208 × 50 mm.
Size of leaf: 306 × 197 mm.
Early marginal annotations, including corrections to the text, variant readings, ‘nota' marks, and pointing hands; some drawings and scribbles, including, on u1v, a diagram showing the winds, and, on &8v, four coats of arms, all in black ink.
Some three- to six-line initials are supplied in red crayon or black ink.

The outer margin of B1 has been repaired, as have the upper margins of leaves in gathering S; the text of S9r is supplied in manuscript.
Binding: Seventeenth-century(?) parchment; formerly chained: staple-marks of a hasp at the head of the upper cover; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers. Cover detached.

Marginal and interlinear annotations, including comments on and corrections to the text, variant readings from a manuscript in gatherings i, l, and R, and ‘nota' marks; also underlining in the text.
On B1r a ten-line initial ‘S' is supplied in blue with reserved white decoration within a red pen-work frame, and with the body of the letter decorated with red pen-work; on a2r an eight-line initial ‘N' is supplied in red with reserved white decoration, and decorated with black pen-work; other two- to eight-line initials, some with reserved white decoration, are supplied in red or blue; capital strokes are supplied in red.
