    2. Johannes Pfeffer de Wydenberg, Tractatus de materiis diversis indulgentiarum. [Basel: Johann Besicken, c.1482] (P‑238). Binding: Contemporary blind-tooled quarter calf over wooden boards, with metal centre-piece and corner-pieces, with bosses, on the upper cover only, and remains of a metal catch. Rebacked and repaired in the Library in 1956 (unsigned note by David Rogers on the inside of the upper cover), with the original leather pasted on to the new spine. ‘G C K P' and ‘1637' carved at head and tail of the upper cover. Triple fillets form two rectangular compartments, one decorated with a rectangular foliate-staff stamp, the other with ‘Maria' scrolls. Size: 313 × 224 × 45 mm. Size of leaf: 303 × 207 mm. A few marginal notes, mainly extracting key words, and pointing hands, in an early hand. Initials are supplied in red or blue; paragraph marks in red. Provenance: Purchased from B.H.
