Wodhull sale, the property of John Edmund Severne, M.P., who had inherited the library, Sotheby's, 11-21 January 1886, lot 2176. Priced "hm/-/-", crossed away, and "do/do/-" in pencil on verso of second upper free endpaper. Bought of Henry Sotheran & Co., 136 Strand [their catalogue description pasted onto verso of first upper free endpaper], in 1888 by Samuel Sandars, his armorial bookplate on upper pastedown, his name and shelfmark [?] "Pp.46", substited by "K" in pencil on verso of first upper free endpaper.
