See Barber, ‘Baroque to Neoclassicism', no. 42: ‘Green morocco; triple fillets with rose stamp at the intersections. Spine with floral swag and ornamented rolls, lettered directly . . . The binding has many features in common with that of no. 31' [i.e. MS. Douce 113 bound by N. D. Derome]. The gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers; marbled pastedowns; pink silk bookmark. Size: 291 × 209 × 40 mm. Size of leaf: 280 × 192 mm. One or two marginal annotations to the text, in a contemporary German hand, supplying underlining and comments on the text. At the beginning are bound four leaves containing a table of contents in a contemporary French hand. On [a2r] a seven-line initial ‘I' is supplied in blue, framed by red pen-work in the shape of a square, with extensions into the margins. Other initials are supplied in red or blue ink. Pilcrows, capital strokes, and underlinings are supplied in red. Provenance: Porrentruy, Switzerland, Jesuits; see ‘Collegii Soc. Jesu Bruntruti' on the recto of the front endleaf.
