  1. S-244(1) Copy The second sheet of gathering [l] is quarto. Variant setting of heading on [b1r]: ‘Capitulum primum De origine | et tēporibus urbis Rome et men | ſibus et diebus intercalaribus'. Binding: Seventeenth-century mottled calf; the title in gilt on a tan leather label on the spine; the gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers; red-edged leaves and a few gilt-edged leaves ([c2-7]); marbled pastedowns; two green silk bookmarks. Size: 203 × 145 × 32 mm. Size of leaf: 195 × 123 mm. Some marginal notes in a contemporary Italian hand (some washed), extracting key words and supplying brackets. Vertical manuscript catchwords at the end of each quire. ‘Emptus Viterbij 69.90' on [n9v]. Three- to five-line initials are supplied in red. Provenance: Luigi Serra, 4th Duca di Cassano (1747-1825); see Catalogo, 38; the copy of Suetonius' De grammaticis, noted as bound after the Solinus, has been removed.
