Binding: Contemporary blind-tooled calf over wooden boards, rebacked, with remains of two metal clasps. Triple fillets form a double frame. Within the outer frame a repeated Crucifixion with SS. Mary and John (reproduced in Bücherei und Gemeinsinn. Das öffentliche Bibliothekswesen der Freien und Hansestadt Lübeck, ed. W. Pieth (Lübeck, 1926), 109. In the inner rectangle a repeated headed-outline tool makes up merrythoughts containing a circular Paschal Lamb and an oval Virgin with Child on her right arm; surrounding a repeated St Anthony the hermit, and a small lozenge-shaped fleur-de-lis. The lower cover is too worn for identification.
