  1. S-328(1) Copy Binding: Eighteenth-century half calf over marbled paper boards; ‘616' in red ink on a paper label in the upper left-hand corner of the upper cover. Size: 325 × 220 × 35 mm. Size of leaf: 314 × 207 mm. Frequent marginal notes in a c.1500 Italian hand in Latin, with a few in Greek, on books V–VI on Italy (especially Campania) and Greece, also some notes on the other books, supplying underlining, brackets, pointing hands, ‘nota' signs, personal names, key words, comments summarizing the text, and some references to other ancient authors using particular signs. Provenance: A circular wax seal (10 mm in diameter) in the lower right-hand corner on a1r: the imprint of a coat of arms bearing a chevron, surmounted by a crown and an eagle.
