Binding: Eighteenth-century gold-tooled green morocco, with the ticket of Angelo Trani, ‘ligatore ordinario del Rè, in Napoli nella strada di Nardi' on the rear pastedown. The gold stamp of the Bodleian Library on both covers. Gilt-edged leaves; marbled pastedowns; narrow pink silk bookmark. Size: 310 × 228 × 34 mm. Size of leaf: 301 × 209 mm. Some marginal notes to Divus Iulius in a contemporary Italian hand, extracting key words and personal names, and supplying some variant readings. Running headings, arabic page-numbering, and frequent marginal notes throughout in a sixteenth-century Italian hand, supplying pointing hands, underlining, comments summarizing the text, and the mostly erased inscription: ‘Si qua uti[ ] non tic[ ]a la[t]ine | Tu qua scribes at, barbara [no?]ta fuit'. ‘C.
