Wanting the blank leaf [*1].
Binding: Nineteenth-century blind-tooled (fillets only) russia backed with calf. Sprinkled red- and brown-edged leaves; marbled pastedowns.
Size: 330 × 225 × 55 mm.
Size of leaf: 320 × 207 mm.
Some marginal notes, mainly extracting key concepts, providing corrections, and pointing hands, in a contemporary hand.
Principal initials are supplied in red, sometimes with reserved white decoration, with violet pen-work decoration with extensions into the margins. Other initials, paragraph marks, and running chapter numbers are supplied in red; capital strokes in red. On [a1r] a manuscript title in red ink: ‘Incipit quodlibetum sancti Thome de Aquino ordinis Predicatorum'; in the same hand also some chapter headings and structuring of the text.
Provenance: Jean Baptiste, chevalier de Bearzi (nineteenth century)(?); probably his sale (1855), lot 360; a pencil note on the rear endleaf.
