'Caxton used an abridged version of her [Winifred's] Latin life by Robert of Shrewsbury (about 1140) "reduced into English by me William Caxton", and included the Latin text of her feast-day services as celebrated at Shrewsbury Abbey' (Painter, Caxton, 157).
