Size of fragment: 167 × 119 mm. Provenance: [ ] Kimber. [ ] Ellis (fl. 1712/1713). Thomas Hearne (1678-1735); note in his hand on c4r: ‘The fragment was given to me by Mr. Ellis one of the Master Printers on Febr. 10 1712/13. I never saw any part of the Book in this old edition before. Mr. Ellis had it from Mr. Kimber the Roman Catholick in Hally-well and says that there was more of it, but that he took this as it was brought to him with tobacco. Twas printed, I think, beyond sea. The author, at least was a German'. Bequeathed to William Bedford (†1747). Listed in John Whiston's list, MS. Rawl. D. 1167, fol. 46: ‘A collection of remarks, letters, extracts in Mr Hearnes handwriting 146 vols'. Bequeathed by Richard Rawlinson (1690-1755) in 1755; see Macray 245. SHELFMARK: MS.
